| 1. Is there any restriction on
academic background or gender? |

There is no restriction on academic background or
gender. Any Asian who meets the qualification can apply. |

| 2. I am Asian, but currently staying
outside Asia. Can I still apply? |
|

Yes, you can if you have an UN defined Asian nationality. |
|
| 3. Can I attend just a part of
the 17 days program? |
|
 |
If you are selected, you must complete the whole program from
September 25 to October 11, 2008. If you are unable to attend
the entire program for any reason, your admission will be automatically
withdrawn. |

| 4. How do you select your participants? |
|
 |
Our selection process includes a preliminary and final examination.
The preliminary examination will be based on your submitted
materials selecting triple numbers of the final candidates.
The final examination will be taken with phone interview in
English and further examination of your submitted materials.
Although your portfolio is one of the key criteria for selection,
we lay more emphasis on the applicant¡¯s passion for film and
his/her potential. |

| 5. How much does it cost to participate
in AFA? |
|

If you are admitted to the program, AFA will pay for your
flight tickets, accommodation and meals for the entire period
of the session. |
|
| 6. Do I need an educational background
in film or any experience in film production? |
|
 |
You should have professional experience in directing, cinematography,
editing or sound design at least for two short films or has
worked as a main staff more than one feature film. Your name
should be credited for the film to verify your involvement.
However, we do not select our participants according to the
quality of the film work. Rather, AFA is a program for Asians
with passion and talents in film. |

| 7. I have already submitted my
portfolio, but can I replace it with a new one? |
|

Yes, you can. But the replacement should take place before
the application deadline and you must check with the AFA office
regarding the replacement as AFA is not responsible for any
problem induced by this action, such as loss or misplacement
of your portfolio. |

| 8. What is the appropriate length
of the portfolio? |
|
 |
There is no restriction on the length of the work. |
|
| 9. Can I get my portfolio back? |
|
 |
All materials submitted for application will not be returned. |
|
| 10. What do I get after the completion
of AFA? |
|
 |
An AFA completion certificate will be issued to those who
finish the program. |
|
| 11. How can I find out about the
selection result? |
|
 |
The result will be notified to each applicant on July 2, which
will also be posted on our website. |
|
| 12. Can I participate in Pusan
International Film Festival while I am attending AFA? |
|
 |
You will be given a PIFF ID and be able to attend some of
the festival¡¯s official events and films in accordance with
AFA¡¯s schedule. However, we want you to know that AFA will be
very tightly scheduled. |

| 13. How does my English ability
effect my application? |
|
 |
Since Asia is a multilingual continent, English is an important
communication medium in AFA and all workshops and classes are
delivered in English. However, your English ability does not
determine your admission. |
|
| 14. Do my religion, physical condition,
and cultural background affect my application? |
|
 |
No. At the end of selection, AFA will do its best to identify
and accommodate fellows with special needs and concerns, and
will also seek cooperation from other fellows if necessary in
order to ensure most conducible work environment for everyone. |

| 15. What is ¡®preparation of script¡¯?
|
|
 |
There will be a workshop for short-film making during the
AFA program. The participants admitted to the program will have
their scripts ready and send them to AFA by August 4, 2008.
Two of film scripts will be selected for filming. The detailed
guideline for the script will be given when the fellows are
selected. |

| 16. Does the participant whose
scenario is chosen get to direct the film? |
|
 |
Not necessarily. A director will be chosen based on his/her
directing experience, film work and interviews. |
|
17. In order to attend AFA, I
will miss my class or work. Can I receive an official letter
for my school or
work? |
|

An official letter that indicates your attendance in AFA will
