Introduction
I was born 27 years ago in Khon Khaen province, in the northeast of Thailand. I began to start watching film seriously around the same time I started playing music when I was in high school. SE7EN, a film by David Fincher stunned me as much as Kurt Cobain’s music that inspired me to write songs.
After high school, I didn’t quite know what I wanted to study in university. So, I chose to study engineering because I thought I would do well in that subject. But gradually I began to wonder what I really wanted to do in life.
In 2005, in the place that far away from any film knowledge or expertise, my first short film, W.C., was born. I learnt how to make the film from books and magazines. After it was completed, I tried submitting it to the student competition of SCG Young Thai Artist Award 2005. It turned out that I won the honorable mention in the film category. I took the plunge and decided to quit studying after I had been hesitant for the past 5 years. I quit when I was in my last year of university. Then, I headed to Bangkok to pursue my dreams of filmmaking and becoming a director.
